ARATAKI BUS HUB, TAURANGA
The Arataki Bus Hub is a key addition to Tauranga’s public transport network, providing modern, functional infrastructure to support the growing community. Designed with both functionality and sustainability in mind, the hub integrates innovative design elements and modular construction techniques to create a welcoming and efficient transit experience for passengers.
In collaboration with Stantec (Civil Engineering) and Isthmus (Landscape Architecture), we refined and developed the designs for two bus shelters on Farm Street: a 19.2-meter-long shelter on the north side and a 36-meter-long shelter on the south side.
Both structures utilise Designbrand’s proprietary aluminium cantilever shelter system, which was specifically designed to be modular, scalable, and highly functional for public infrastructure projects.
